Brief Summary of what was exposed in classes

Regression analysis

It fits a line on this messy dot plot, X is called the independent or predictor variable, and Y is the dependent variable or response to the regression line.

The idea is to minimize the total distance of the Y values to the line, find the squared distances of ay to the line and guamis it to obtain the sum of squared errors (SSE).


ANOVA

It is the ratio of the relative error to the total dispersion.

Coefficient of determination

It is the ratio of all the SSyy explainable by the regression. R2 is always less than 1, the closer it is to 1 the more accurate the curve fit. R2= 1 corresponds to perfect fit.

Correlation coefficient

It is the square root of R2 with 3l sign of b. Then r is positive if the line is ascending to the right, and negative if the line is descending to the right.

Personal Conclusions

The class was very entertaining due to the dynamics of the class. We learned a lot about regression and how to calculate it.
